The Choices4Growth (C4G-CIC) project is based in Berwick-upon-Tweed, Northumberland, situated right on the borders of Scotland and England. Traditionally mainstream services have been based in South East Northumberland and north of the Border.
C4G’s services are run by Jacqui Davison MBACP, who is a professional counsellor registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and has over 15 years’ experience working within local support agencies.
Currently providing counselling and emotional support to three local schools with proven success, Jacqui has a wealth of knowledge and understanding of the issues and needs of the local community. Rurality and a lack of adequate transportation links between areas create a massive disadvantage for those living in the area.
In 2019 we were awarded funding by The National Lottery, the largest community funder in the UK, who are keen to support our work as they recognise the importance of the project’s stability and the need to expand.
Some of the issues currently worked with are; domestic abuse, emotional abuse, relationships, family mediation, bereavement and loss, suicide ideation, drug and alcohol misuse, low self-esteem, challenging behaviour, anger, gender identity, depression, anxiety and safeguarding.
Safeguarding and welfare of all clients is always a priority.
